How much does a UGC video cost in 2026? Prices and how to hire a creator
"UGC creator" is one of the fastest-growing searches this year: on Google Trends it rose 50% between the first and last quarter of the past twelve months, and Exploding Topics lists it among the fastest-growing topics in October 2026. More and more brands want videos of real people talking about their product, and the first question is always the same: how much does it cost?
The short answer: $150 to $300 per video is the most common range. The useful answer is in everything that surrounds that price.
What a UGC creator charges per video
According to the market data compiled by Insense (September 2026), the price per video depends mainly on the creator's level:
- Beginner: $50 to $400. Basic filming and light editing. Good for testing ideas with little risk.
- Mid-level: $150 to $1,000. Proper framing, clean editing and, often, a niche specialisation.
- Premium: $500 to $3,000+. On-camera presence, scripting, studio-grade sound and light, and the judgement to improve the brief.
Industry changes the price too. In fashion, a video runs from $100 to $1,500; in beauty and skincare, from $150 to $2,000; in tech, from $300 to $600. Industries with fewer specialised creators (finance, software, health) can cost 20% to 100% more.
Buying in bundles on platforms lowers the price per video. Billo, for example, offers 6 videos for $500 and 14 for $1,000 (PPC.io, January 2026). The average price paid on Collabstr is around $154 per video (Collabstr, 2026).
What pushes the price up (and almost nobody mentions at first)
The price of the video doesn't always include the right to use it in ads. These are the most common extras:
- Extended usage rights: 30% to 50% on top of the base price (Billo, October 2026; PPC.io, January 2026). The longer the period, the more platforms and the more paid advertising, the higher the cost.
- Ads run from the creator's account (whitelisting or TikTok Spark Ads): 30% to 100% of the base price per month (PPC.io).
- Raw, unedited footage: 30% to 50% more (PPC.io).
- Hook or ending variations: usually charged separately (PPC.io).
- Rush jobs: fast delivery carries a surcharge (Insense).
A $200 video can end up costing $300 or $400 once the rights to advertise with it are added. That's why it pays to ask for the final, all-in price.
Ways to hire UGC
Approximate cost of each model, according to Insense (2026):
- Finding and managing creators yourself: $7,000-10,000 a month in team time.
- Agency on a monthly retainer: $2,000-10,000 a month (8-20 videos on mid-tier retainers).
- Self-serve creator platform: from $400-500 a month, plus each creator's fee.
- Fully managed production: around $440 per video, all-in.
The cheap option isn't always cheap: finding creators, shipping products, reviewing versions and negotiating rights takes many hours.
How to hire a UGC creator without surprises
- Define the goal of each video: is it for the organic feed or for ads? That changes the price and the format.
- Write a short brief: product, audience, the main message and what can't be said.
- Ask for a portfolio in your industry, not just pretty videos.
- Ask what the price includes: usage rights, duration, platforms, number of revisions and raw footage.
- Ask for several versions of the hook: in ads, the first seconds decide.
- Put everything in writing, especially usage rights and dates.

One recording, many videos
UGC costs soar when a brand needs volume: several versions to test, several formats and several markets. The usual approach is to hire one video per idea, per format and per country.
There's another way. With hybrid visual production, a single recording gives you every version the campaign needs: different hooks, vertical and square, and adapted to each country, with its own setting and language. That's what we did with FORNO & CO.: the same creator and the same product in Rome, Mexico City and Tokyo, each one speaking like someone from there.
