Black Friday ads 2026: what creative works and how to have it ready in time

Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday 27 November, and Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. Many brands plan it around the discount. But everyone has a discount. What makes someone stop at your ad is the image or video that comes with it.

Last year broke records. In the United States, online sales reached $11.8 billion on Black Friday and $14.25 billion on Cyber Monday, according to Adobe. Globally, Salesforce puts Black Friday alone at $79 billion. There is a lot of money at stake, and a lot of competition for attention.

What works in 2026

  • Short video that opens with the product. This year's campaign guides agree: videos of 15 to 30 seconds where the product appears in the first seconds, not at the end. The discount comes after. If the first second doesn't show what you sell, the ad gets lost in the scroll.
  • Content with a real person's face. UGC-style ads (someone talking to camera, trying the product and giving their opinion) are still among the best converters. They build trust in a week when shoppers see hundreds of similar offers.
  • Still images still sell. Not everything has to be video. A good product photo with a clear hook and offer converts well, especially in retargeting, when the shopper already knows your brand. The best approach is to test both formats.
  • The product in use, not just on a white background. Lifestyle photos and videos with the product in hand give shoppers the information they need to decide quickly.
  • Built for mobile. On Cyber Monday 2025, 57.5% of online purchases were made on a phone, according to Adobe. Vertical or square formats, large text and nothing important near the edges.

The timeline: why it can't wait until the last week

Agencies recommend testing creative in October and launching the campaign in early November, so the ads have learned before the peak.

Ad prices also rise as the date gets closer. On Meta, according to Lebesgue's 2025 data:

  • the cost per thousand impressions rose 15% two weeks before Black Friday;
  • it rose 24% the week before;
  • and in Black Friday week it was 59% higher than in September.

Arriving late with your creative means paying more for every ad and having less time to learn which one works.

And shoppers plan earlier than ever. According to TikTok's 2026 holiday report, #fallwishlist content grew 450% from August to September. Brands that show their products before the offer arrive at Black Friday with interest already built.

What assets a Black Friday campaign needs

A complete campaign is not a single image. At a minimum:

  • 2-3 short videos (15-30 s): grab attention on Reels, TikTok and Stories.
  • 1-2 UGC videos: trust and social proof.
  • 3-5 product images: catalogue ads and retargeting.
  • Versions per format (9:16, 1:1, 4:5): so each asset fits each placement.
  • Variations of the first second: to test which hook works best.

Multiply that by every product on offer and the volume grows fast. That's why many brands end up recycling the same old photos with a "-30%" sticker.

How to produce it in time

This is where hybrid visual production makes the difference. It combines a real camera with generated images and video. From a single shoot, or even from the product photos a brand already has, you get:

  • short videos with the product in motion;
  • lifestyle scenes without setting up a new shoot;
  • versions of the same ad for several markets and languages;
  • format and hook variations to test from day one.

What used to take weeks of production is done in days, with the brand's visual direction and without the product changing from one image to the next.

Before you launch, check this

  • Does the product appear in the first 2 seconds?
  • Does the ad make sense without sound?
  • Do you have at least two versions of the hook to test?
  • Is every asset in the right format for its placement?
  • Are the offer dates clear?
  • If an asset is generated, does it carry the label the platform requires?
